[link] llink to the Contest which I did not know was going on until I checked the categories! Whaddya know?!
This is some shots of my Gravity Falls Pumpkin. I wanteed to carve it on a watermelon, but my mom poo-pooed the idea. Oh well, it's still on a pumpkin.
It was for a 'Pumpkin Museum' that my school's art club hosts where people in the club submit some form of pumpkin, carved, painted, amalgamed, et cetera. Students vote on thich is their favorite using money. I didn't do too badly for myself this year, placing fourth (The problem is that this also becomes a popularity contest, and so basically since I'm too polite to ask for people to vote for me, I can't win) and I got a lot of positive comments on it, so I hope you all can enjoy it, too!
It took, in all, about seven hours. What I did was draw a stencil out of Sharpie, cut out all the white with an exacto knife, glue the stencils on, spray paint, pull off stencils and carve away with linoleum cutters, a bit of Dremel, and some wood carving tools. The carving itself was probably about five hours of work.
But it was lots of fun and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
P.S. Sorry for the lack of art lately. I just don't feel like fakedexing at the moment for whatever reason. School just eats up a chunk of time.
