Update 7/11/18: I did this art ages ago but finally actually stuck it onto the sheet haha
Science class, seventh grade: I had always enjoyed flipping through the book to look at the extra trivia included therein. No, I never have been good at paying attention. Regardless, somewhere, a bizarre sight caught my attention. Upon further reading, it appeared that it was the larva of an urchin. Fascinated, I noted to myself what a wonderful fakemon concept it could make. Thus, Urcho was born.
I was originally going to have Urcho evolve in to an actual urchin (do we even have one of those officially? I'm missing it mentally if we do.), but after discovering nothing seemed to work, I decided to keep it a weird jellythang. Mind you, this baby's older than Reuniclus, so you have no right to judge it based on the similarities. Rinchin, on the other hand, may be debatable because I recently took it upon myself to redesign it. You'll see Rinchin soon enough.
Urcho's name is a portmanteau of urchin and poncho. God, portmanteau is such a fantastic word. Wish it was smaller in the interest of Scrabble. XD
Urcho is a pokemon born in warm seas. Once its psychic powers are strong enough to hold its jelly overcoat in an acceptable viscosity, it ventures onto the land to live. They are noted to be slightly poisonous, though they have no way of injecting said poisons into an enemy other than the enemy ingesting it. The gel-like overcoat they produce regenerates quickly and is valued as a composite in topical medications. They are very excitable and happy, and broadcast their happiness telepatically.
For whatever reason, Urcho reminds me a lot of Omanyte. I'm thinking it's the whole squishy aquatic invertebrate thing.
Still trying the new shading thing, no real complaints. Any from you guys? Prefer old? New? Which looks more official? I'd love to know. :3
