Red Baron

Thirty-seven to go... Yikes. I don't know what to think! I have a buttload of sprites to do still, but thirty-seven. Wow.

Skarlet are largely protected when they first hatch due to their strong armored bodies, though they do not fly well at first because their glossy red feathers are like tinfoil. As they grow, their metal bodies thin and their feathers harden. They were seen as a symbol of good luck in medieval times and also as a symbol of the maturity of a boy into a man because as they age their sweet whistling songs become harsh screeches. They hang around factories looking for scrap metal to eat and are a common sight across Cajiro's Rust Belt now that the manufacturing industry has died down. When it rains, they hide anywhere they can so that they do not rust to death.
